Job Description
A Material Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing the supply of materials required for production or manufacturing processes. Working closely with suppliers, production teams, and other departments, the Material Planner ensures that the right materials are available at the right time.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing material planning strategies and policies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Collaborating with suppliers to monitor inventory levels, track deliveries, and resolve any issues or delays.
- Analyzing production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements and develop procurement plans.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure materials are ordered and delivered according to production schedules.
- Managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, including conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
The ideal candidate for this position should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Experience in material planning and knowledge of supply chain management principles are also desirable.
