Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baking and Pastry Chef (Line Cook) with expertise in both culinary cooking and baking/pastry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes while also contributing significantly to our pastry and baking offerings. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation

guidelines.

2. Take a lead role in the development and execution of baking and pastry offerings, including bread, desserts, pastries, and other baked goods.

3. Create and innovate new pastry items, seasonal desserts, and specialty baked goods to enhance our menu and attract customers.

4. Maintain an organized inventory of baking ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability at all times.

5. Oversee the baking process from mixing to baking to final presentation, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.

6. Train and mentor kitchen staff on baking techniques, pastry decoration, and proper handling of delicate baked goods.

7. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create harmonious menu items that

complement both savory dishes and desserts.

8. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations in all baking and pastry

preparation areas.

9. Monitor baking equipment and report any maintenance issues to ensure optimal performance and safety.

10. Assist in the development of standardized recipes and procedures for baking and pastry

production.

11. Maintain a clean and organized baking station, including regular cleaning of equipment and work surfaces.

12. Assist in other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation, plating, and dishwashing.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a restaurant or food service establishment, with a focus on baking and pastry.

2. Strong culinary skills with expertise in baking techniques, pastry decoration, and dessert

presentation.

3. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, particularly in relation to baking and pastry production.

4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.

6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

7. Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institute is a plus.

8. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

9. Creative flair and passion for food and baking, with a desire to innovate and experiment with new recipes and techniques.

10. Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
