Job Description
An Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible for conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients. They operate specialized equipment to capture images of various organs and tissues within the body. The technologist must ensure image quality and accuracy while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Key responsibilities:
- Performing ultrasound procedures as requested by physicians.
- Preparing patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions.
- Positioning patients and equipment to obtain optimal images.
- Adjusting equipment settings to ensure clear and accurate images.
- Evaluating images for technical quality and forwarding them for physician interpretation.
- Maintaining patient records and documenting procedure details.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and image acquisition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification in diagnostic medical sonography.
