Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeping Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Australian accounting practices and regulations, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Generate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements.
- Stay updated on changes in tax regulations affecting the business.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with Australian payroll regulations.
- Handle employee salary payments, superannuation, and leave entitlements.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and support during audit processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
