Job Description
A Payroll Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of payroll processing within a company. They are in charge of ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees, calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and maintaining employee payroll records.
Key responsibilities of a Payroll Officer include:
- Collecting and verifying timesheets and attendance records
- Calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
- Preparing and distributing pay statements or direct deposits to employees
- Maintaining accurate records of employee information, tax withholding, and benefits
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee inquiries
