Job Description
A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of costs and contracts within construction projects. They play a vital role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget. Their main duties include:
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Evaluating and negotiating contracts.
- Conducting feasibility studies and assessing risks.
- Monitoring project costs and schedules.
- Preparing progress reports and final accounts.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Analyzing and resolving variances in costs and quantities.
To be successful in this role, candidates should have a degree in quantity surveying or a related field, along with strong analytical and negotiation skills. Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and cost management software is also required.
