Job Description
A Prepress Operator is responsible for preparing digital files for printing, ensuring accuracy and quality in the print production process. This role involves operating computer software and hardware to process and manipulate images, layouts, and graphics before they are sent for printing.
The job duties include collaborating with designers and printers to ensure that the files meet the printing requirements, such as color gamut, image resolution, and file format. The Prepress Operator also performs quality checks, conducts color corrections, and troubleshoots any technical issues that may arise.
Additionally, this position requires advanced knowledge of prepress applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite and other image editing software. Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential for a Prepress Operator.
