Job Description
I. Position Summary
Baristas are responsible for making and serving beverages like coffee and tea, as well as food items such as sandwiches, muffins, or cookies. They also package coffee blends, explain menu items to customers, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain cleanliness.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sell coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, educate customers on brewing methods, and highlight product differences
- Clean and restock work and dining areas, sanitize equipment and utensils, and handle trash disposal
- Learn brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to enhance food quality
- Take inventory and replenish items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter
- Collaborate with a fun and high-energy team
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality controls
II. Job Requirements
- Minimum college graduate with a degree in BS HRM or undergraduate
- At least 1 year of Barista experience
- Knowledgeable about basic customer service
- Familiarity with coffee base blends
- Available for shifting schedules
- Pleasing personality
- Training and willingness to continuously learn about food and beverage preparation
- Exceptional listening and communication skills
- Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
