Job Description
An Oracle DB Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle database systems. They play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of the company’s databases.
The main responsibilities of an Oracle DB Administrator include installing and upgrading database software, configuring database parameters, and monitoring database performance to ensure smooth operation. They also troubleshoot and resolve database issues, conduct backups and restoration, and implement security measures to protect data.
Additionally, Oracle DB Administrators collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and performance. They work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, create and manage user accounts, and ensure data availability and accessibility.
Skills and qualifications for this position include strong knowledge of Oracle database management, database performance tuning, backup and recovery techniques, and experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within deadlines are essential.
