Job Description
A Collection Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the collection of outstanding payments from customers. The main objective of this role is to ensure timely receipt of payments and reduce the company’s accounts receivable balance.
The key responsibilities of a Collection Specialist include:
- Monitoring and following up on overdue accounts
- Communicating with customers via phone, email, or mail to resolve outstanding payment issues
- Negotiating payment plans or settlements with customers to minimize bad debt
- Updating customer records and maintaining accurate collection documentation
- Collaborating with internal teams, such as sales or customer service, to address customer inquiries or disputes
Successful candidates for this position should possess strong communication and negotiation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in collections or accounts receivable would be beneficial.
