Job Description
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience using Python (pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib a must)
- At least 5 years of experience in handling big data or working on data research/analytics
- Graduate with a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in managing projects and their delivery
- Experience with SQL and MS-Excel
- Experience in dealing with international clients is a plus
- Experience working with or for an investment bank is a plus
- Experience working with Snowflake is a plus
Skills needed:
- Very strong data analytics skills, working with both structured and unstructured data
- Python programming skills
- Good financial research skills
- Ability to think outside the box and critically is a must
- Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize complexity
- Experience in communicating with investment banking clients is a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Self-starter and fast learner, thinking beyond the requirements, creative
- Organized, responsible, accurate, responsive
- PLUS: 20k Language premium if with Mandarin speaking and writing proficiency, but not a must
Position Specifications:
- The role will be part of an offshore research team for a global investment banking client.
- The team provides evidence-based and alternative data research to client equity analysts to understand investment debates.
- Data gathered will be analyzed, triangulated, and presented. Parts of the output will be included in the client’s research publications.
- The person’s main focus will be a mix of data analytics and project/client management in Mandarin and English, as well as other tasks depending on the direction of the client.
