Job Description
A Vascular Technician is responsible for conducting diagnostic tests related to the circulatory system, aiding in the detection and treatment of various vascular diseases. They work alongside healthcare professionals to perform non-invasive procedures, including ultrasounds and other diagnostic imaging techniques, to evaluate blood flow, vascular conditions, and detect abnormalities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing vascular exams such as Doppler ultrasounds, venous reflux studies, and arterial imaging.
- Accurately documenting findings and providing detailed reports to physicians.
- Assisting with patient education, explaining procedures, and answering questions.
- Ensuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate results.
- Following safety protocols and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. A degree or certification in vascular technology or a related field is required.
