Job Description
It is the duty of house parents to look after and assist LRN Foundation students residing in residential facilities. House parents play a crucial role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for the students, ensuring their well-being, and providing guidance in their daily lives. They are responsible for supervising daily routines, offering emotional support, and fostering a sense of community among the students. Additionally, house parents collaborate with the academic staff to ensure that the student’s educational needs are met and provide any necessary resources or assistance to help them succeed academically.
Some of their duties include:
- Helping students prepare for the school day and ensuring they get to school on time.
- Providing emotional support to students who are experiencing difficulties or adjusting to new situations.
- Providing supervision and guidance to students to help them develop socially and emotionally.
- Assisting with homework and other school projects.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A background check clearance
- Marriage of at least five years or more
- A minimum age of 40 years
- Demonstrated successful experience working with children from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds is an advantage
