Job Description
A Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines to produce diagnostic images of patients. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and high-quality images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for imaging procedures, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety during the process. You will also be responsible for adjusting and controlling equipment settings to obtain the best possible images for interpretation.
Additionally, Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in ensuring radiation safety by following strict protocols and guidelines. They must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide emotional support to patients who may be anxious or in pain.
To be successful in this role, you should have completed a formal education program in radiography and be certified by the appropriate licensing board. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is also essential.
