Job Description
A Billing & Coding Specialist is responsible for accurately processing medical bills and assigning appropriate codes to medical procedures, treatments, and diagnoses. They play a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring that healthcare providers are accurately reimbursed for services rendered.
As a Billing & Coding Specialist, your main tasks will include reviewing medical documentation, verifying insurance coverage, and entering coded data into billing software. You will need to possess strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and coding guidelines.
In addition to your technical skills, excellent communication and customer service skills are essential in this role. You will be working closely with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients, addressing any billing or coding inquiries.
- Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes
