Job Description
A Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing echocardiogram tests on patients to detect and diagnose cardiovascular diseases. They work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to obtain high-quality images and recordings of the heart.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting echocardiogram tests using ultrasound equipment
- Explaining procedures to patients and ensuring their comfort and cooperation
- Assessing the quality of images and recordings to ensure accurate diagnosis
- Interpreting images and providing preliminary findings to the cardiologist
- Maintaining and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment
- Documenting patient information and test results accurately
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and relevant software
- Excellent knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
