Job Description
The position of Counsel (Nonsovereign) at our company offers an exciting opportunity for legal professionals seeking a challenging role in international development. As a Counsel (Nonsovereign), you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support for nonsovereign operations and transactions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and negotiating legal agreements, contracts, and loan and grant documentation
- Assessing the legal risks associated with proposed transactions
- Providing legal advice on a wide range of issues, including project financing, investment laws, and dispute resolution
- Advising on environmental and social safeguards
- Collaborating with internal teams and external counterparts to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant legal experience, preferably in international finance or development. A juris doctor degree and a strong understanding of international law and business practices are required.
