Job Description
A Credit Risk Specialist – Loan Underwriter is responsible for assessing and evaluating the creditworthiness of loan applicants. They analyze and review financial documents, credit reports, and borrower’s history to determine the risk involved in granting a loan. The specialist conducts risk assessments based on established criteria and guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating loan applications and supporting documents
- Assessing creditworthiness and analyzing financial information
- Verifying loan applicant’s financial history and income sources
- Calculating credit scores and recommending loan terms
- Identifying potential risks and suggesting risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborating with the underwriting team and loan officers
