Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and carry out security measures to protect IEE’s computer networks and computer systems
• Design and implement security systems to protect a company or organization’s computer networks from cyber-attacks and help set and maintain security standards
• Monitor IEE organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate when one occurs
• Use and maintain software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information
• Check for vulnerabilities in computer and network systems
• Research the latest Information Technology security trends
• Prepare reports that document general metrics, attempted attacks, and security breaches
• Develop security standards and best practices for our organization
• Recommend security enhancements to Senior IT/MIS Staff or peers
• Monitor computer networks for security issues
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls, and data encryption programs
• Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 2 years of experience
• Experience in information security or related field
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
