Job Description
Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving various technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking systems. The role involves coordinating with other support teams, ensuring the seamless functioning of IT infrastructure, and addressing user requests and issues in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with other support teams to resolve requests and issues efficiently, minimizing business impact.
- Support and troubleshoot VOIP systems, conferencing setups, and mobile service requests.
- Identify and implement fixes for high-priority problems while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Install and configure software updates (patches), operating systems, antivirus software, and applications like Microsoft Office.
- Diagnose and repair network problems, hardware malfunctions, and software faults.
- Respond to technical support calls from end-users regarding computer systems and software applications.
- Maintain and monitor network components, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and controllers, to ensure network integrity.
- Monitor network traffic and take proactive measures to maintain system performance.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Possession of IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco) is an added advantage.
- Solid understanding of basic IT infrastructure and networking systems.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Experience with network components and security (switches, firewalls, wireless systems) is preferred.
