Job Description
A librarian is responsible for managing and organizing a library’s collection of books, periodicals, media, and other materials. They help patrons locate resources, answer reference inquiries, and provide research assistance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Classifying, cataloging, and shelving library materials following established standards.
- Assisting patrons in finding and accessing information resources.
- Offering guidance on library policies, services, and programs.
- Maintaining the library’s digital resources and online databases.
- Planning and conducting library programs, such as storytime sessions or workshops.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess excellent organizational and communication skills. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently is crucial.
