Job Description
A Material Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of materials for production and distribution. This includes monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production timelines. The Material Planner is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and assessing supplier performance.
- Creating and maintaining material procurement plans to ensure adequate stock levels
- Monitoring inventory levels and conducting regular audits to identify and address any discrepancies
- Forecasting demand based on production schedules and customer orders
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align material requirements with production needs
- Identifying and resolving any supply chain issues to minimize disruptions and delays
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and assessing performance
