Job Description
A Material Planner plays a crucial role in managing the supply chain activities for a company. They are responsible for ensuring that materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right cost. Their main responsibilities include:
- Creating and executing material plans based on production schedules and inventory levels.
- Monitoring and analyzing the supply chain to identify potential issues or bottlenecks.
- Collaborating with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and resolve any supply issues.
- Forecasting material requirements to support production and customer demands.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize inventory management and reduce costs.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and procurement.
- Reviewing and evaluating supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
