Job Description
A Medical Biller is responsible for handling and managing the financial transactions related to healthcare services. They play a vital role in ensuring accurate billing and proper reimbursement for medical services provided.
The job responsibilities of a Medical Biller include:
- Reviewing and verifying medical records and claims for accuracy
- Generating and submitting invoices and statements to patients, insurance companies, and other payers
- Communicating with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and obtain additional information, if necessary
- Tracking and following up on outstanding claims and unpaid invoices
- Processing payments, refunds, and adjustments
- Maintaining patient financial records and updating insurance information
