Job Description
A Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and processing healthcare claims for reimbursement. This role requires strong attention to detail and knowledge of medical coding systems and billing procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and verifying patient information and medical records for accuracy
- Ensuring appropriate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Preparing and submitting insurance claims
- Monitoring and following up on unpaid claims
Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with medical billing software are highly desirable.
