Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder (IP/OP) to join our team. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning appropriate medical codes to patient records for both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) services.
You will work closely with medical professionals and healthcare providers to ensure that documentation is complete and accurate to support the coding process. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and reimbursement systems is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Review inpatient and outpatient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS code sets
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of coding by following coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to resolve coding queries
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry practices
Qualifications:
- Certification in Medical Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA)
- Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record systems
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
