Job Description
A Medical Language Specialist is responsible for accurately transcribing and interpreting medical dictations, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of patient data. Working in a fast-paced environment, they transcribe medical reports, patient histories, and clinical notes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribing medical dictations with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensuring accuracy and precision in transcribing and interpreting medical terms and abbreviations.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify any unclear or ambiguous dictations.
- Maintaining HIPAA compliance and safeguarding patient confidentiality.
- Organizing and managing a high volume of medical documents.
- Staying updated on medical terminology, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Proficiency in typing and using transcription software.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
