Job Description

Job Summary:

The Medical Virtual Assistant will assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks and patient communication from a remote location. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth office operations, helping healthcare providers stay organized, and enhancing the patient experience. The position requires familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and proficiency with various healthcare management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Scheduling & Communication:

  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Manage patient inquiries via phone, email, or messaging platforms.
  • Send reminders to patients regarding upcoming appointments, test results, or follow-up care.
  • Assist with patient registration and updating medical records.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Handle insurance verifications, authorizations, and billing inquiries.
  • Process and submit medical claims, following up on unpaid or rejected claims.
  • Perform data entry, medical transcription, and updating patient Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Manage healthcare provider calendars and coordinate meetings or consultations.

Document & Record Management:

  • Maintain accurate and updated medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
  • File and organize electronic documents, lab results, prescriptions, and patient reports.
  • Assist in processing prescriptions and refills through healthcare provider approval.

Billing and Coding Support:

  • Assist with medical billing, coding, and invoicing.
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up with insurance companies for reimbursements.
  • Generate financial reports for the healthcare provider or clinic as needed.

Patient Care Coordination:

  • Assist in coordinating patient referrals, laboratory tests, and follow-up procedures.
  • Ensure seamless communication between patients, healthcare providers, and specialists.
  • Handle non-clinical inquiries and concerns, redirecting more complex questions to the appropriate medical professional.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing or healthcare-related certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical office procedures, or healthcare management systems.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare administrative role is preferred.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using healthcare management software, such as EHR systems, scheduling platforms, and billing tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php30,00.00 – Php35,00.00 per month
