Job Description
- Provides physical therapy and first aid services for student-athletes.
- Assesses the strength and physical condition of prospective users (athletes and faculty) and designs exercise programs suitable to their needs and goals.
- Assesses and evaluates the nature and extent of the injury and makes appropriate referrals to physicians if necessary.
- Plans and prepares written programs based on the evaluation of the patient and/or by order of the attending physiatrist.
- Implements appropriate procedures for the treatment of injured patients.
- Educates the patient on home exercise programs and/or post-treatment procedures for full recovery.
- Ensures the ready availability of physical fitness and therapy equipment, including supplies and first aid materials, to users.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane, or related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.
