Job Description
I. POSITION SUMMARY
- Purchasing Staff is responsible for supporting business operations by ordering products or materials that agree with their employer’s brand. Their duties include maintaining relationships with Suppliers, Vendors or Wholesalers, placing orders for products based on current inventory needs and tracking shipments from manufacturing locations to retail stores or company warehouses.
II. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating cost and boosting efficiency.
- Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
- Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records.
- Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies.
- Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitor their performance and renegotiating contracts.
- Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors.
II. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Purchasing-related field.
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of industry market trends and conditions.
- Good understanding of popular products in the industry.
- Flexible to travel to meet with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers as required.
- Preferably living within the vicinity or amenable to work in Valenzuela or relocate prior to on-boarding.
IV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledgeable of basic computer operations and applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Php15,860.00 – Php17,00.00 per month
