Job Description
A Purchasing Assistant is responsible for assisting the purchasing department in the procurement of goods and services needed by the company. They work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
The main responsibilities of a Purchasing Assistant include:
- Assisting in sourcing and selecting suppliers to meet the company’s procurement needs
- Preparing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records of all transactions
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolving any issues that may arise
- Assisting in evaluating supplier performance and negotiating contracts and prices
