Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Construction-related preferably Civil)
- Must have 7 years relevant experience in Construction
- Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of building and construction
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Hereunder are the duties and responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor:
- Cost Estimation: Estimating the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for a construction project. This involves analyzing project plans and specifications to create accurate cost estimates.
- Budgeting: Developing and managing budgets for construction projects. This includes setting the initial budget and tracking expenses throughout the project’s lifecycle.
- Cost Control: Monitoring project costs and expenses to ensure they stay within the established budget. They may recommend cost-saving measures when necessary.
- Change Management: Assessing and managing changes to the project scope and cost, including variations, extra work, and unforeseen issues.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact the project’s cost and timeline.
- Cost Reporting: Preparing regular reports for project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and contractors, detailing the project’s financial status.
- Measurement and Quantification: Taking off and measuring quantities of materials and labor needed for the project. This is crucial for accurate cost estimation.
- Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Considering and advising on sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices, including the use of eco-friendly materials and technologies.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure that projects comply with legal requirements.
