Job Description
A Take-off Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate project estimation and cost assessment in the construction industry. The primary responsibility of a Take-off Specialist is to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, extract relevant quantities and dimensions, and calculate material and labor costs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing accurate quantity take-offs using specialized software
- Preparing detailed cost estimates based on the take-offs
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to validate the estimates
- Updating cost databases and cost tracking systems
- Providing support during bid submissions and negotiations
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong understanding of construction procedures, excellent numerical skills, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are also essential.
