Job Description
1. Performing preventive maintenance procedures on vehicles to ensure they run smoothly
2. Troubleshooting mechanical problems in vehicles, equipment, or machinery
3. Diagnosing problems in vehicles, engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, etc., and recommending solutions
4. Maintaining inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform repairs
5. Performing minor repairs, such as replacing brake pads, oil changes, tire rotations, replacing filters, etc.
6. Installing new parts into vehicles as needed
7. Performing diagnostics tests on electronic systems such as computerized engine control units (ECUs) to identify problems
8. Creating estimates of repair costs based on inspection results and consultation with customers
9. Communicating with customers to explain repair procedures and estimated time frames for completion of work
