Job Description
The Technical Performance Manager is responsible for understanding and overseeing the technical aspects of software development teams, ensuring that developers are meeting organizational standards and objectives. This role involves both technical acumen and strong people skills to effectively manage and support the technical staff.
- Technical Understanding: Possess a strong grasp of software development processes, tools, and technologies. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of technical staff. Set clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Developer Support and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to developers, helping them overcome technical challenges and ensuring project timelines are met.
- Identifying Misguidance: Detect any discrepancies or misleading information from technical staff and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for the technical team to ensure they are skilled in current and emerging technologies.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any conflicts within the team, balancing technical perspectives with HR policies.
- Collaboration with HR and Technical Leads: Work closely with HR to align technical team goals with overall HR strategies, and collaborate with technical leads to ensure team alignment with organizational objectives.
- Talent Acquisition: Assist in the recruitment and selection of technical staff, ensuring candidates meet both technical and cultural fit.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a positive work environment that encourages team growth, collaboration, and high performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Proven experience in a technical management role, with an understanding of software development life cycles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing and motivating technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and implement improvement strategies.
- Understanding of HR processes and policies is a plus.
