Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Check eligibility and benefit verification through calls and web portals.
  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, both electronically and through paper claim processing.
  • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
  • Ensure accuracy of insurance payments and compliance with contract discounts.
  • Handle payment posting (EOB/ERA).
  • Review patient bills for completeness and accuracy, obtaining any missing information.
  • Generate patient statements.
  • Obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorization for procedures.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Review all accounts for insurance or patient follow-up.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims through insurance calls and web portals.
  • Conduct research and appeal denied claims.
  • Update billing software according to the fee schedule.
  • Maintain cash spreadsheet and run collection reports.
  • Respond to patient or insurance inquiries related to assigned accounts.
