Job Description
Crystallite Pakistan – (PVT) Limited is looking for a skilled Linux Administrator to join our team. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization’s Linux-based systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux-based (CentOS) systems and software.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify issues or bottlenecks. Implement solutions to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in a Linux environment.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity and system availability.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other teams (e.g., development, operations) to support application deployment and resolve technical challenges.
- Stay updated with new technologies, best practices, and security standards in the Linux ecosystem.
- Create and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven work experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Linux-based operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- Experience with system installation, configuration, automation, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security best practices, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Proficiency in system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and logging solutions (e.g., ELK stack).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
