Description
This job description enlists the duties and responsibilities of the Resident Engineer to manage Virtual Infrastructure Operations.
- Provide level 2 support for Hyper-V and VMWare virtual Infrastructure and coordination with product principles i.e. VMWare, Microsoft, and HP.
- Administer, design, and deployment of different Virtual Infrastructure i.e. VMware and Hyper-V products.
- Performance tuning and capacity planning of virtual and physical infrastructure.
- Virtual Infrastructure High Availability, SRM, DRS, Resource Pool, RDM, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and MSCS configuration and troubleshooting.
- Management of vSwitch, Dynamic vSwitch, ports groups, security, and teaming.
- VI systems load & performance monitoring and reporting.
- Reporting and maintaining the relevant SOPs, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Performance Measurement Standards (Quantitative/Qualitative).
- As per defined KPIs and SOPs by using tools like vCenter and SCVMM.
- As per defined KPIs using different reporting tools of virtual infrastructure monitoring and reporting like VeeamONE.
- Documentation, SOPs, and change management.
- Timely completion of relevant documentation and change fulfillment.
- Ensure the smooth running of 24×7 operations.
