Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Contract Manager & Claims Specialist at the Southern Regional office of ZKB Group. The incumbent will be responsible for managing contract proposals, negotiations, initiating claims and drafting for all projects. This role will require the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, including legal teams, and ensure contracts are compliant with legal requirements. The Contract Manager will also need to analyze and report on contract performance for internal stakeholders and make recommendations for process improvement to mitigate risk when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum graduation with a Civil Engineering Degree (Postgraduate degree will be a value addition)
- A degree in Law or a related field will be a value addition
- At least 5+ years of working experience specifically in a similar role
- Thorough understanding of FIDIC (Red and Yellow Book)
- Maintain documenting records, decisions made at meetings, progress of project implementation, and changes to contract plans.
- Prepare contractual claims for additional costs and EOT as well as review and drafting of correspondence (timely notices to claim)
- Provide guidance and advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters
- Ensure the organizational internal contract documents are accurate and well-maintained
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts
- Familiarity with legal terms and requirements, and experience working with legal teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus
- Professional certification in contract management is preferred
