Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement HSE Policies:
Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and Barrick Gold Corporation standards.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents or incidents.
Training and Education:
Provide HSE training and educational programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols and environmental conservation efforts.
Inspections and Audits:
Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify non-compliance issues and areas for improvement. Develop corrective action plans and ensure timely implementation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in HSE management is preferred.
Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in the mining or extractive industry.
In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly those relevant to mining operations in Pakistan.
Fluent in English and Urdu; proficiency in other local languages spoken in Balochistan province is an advantage.
