Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join the Simplex team as a Principal Software Engineer. You will be working with a talented team of engineers, leading and overseeing the company’s software development process to ensure effective, reliable, and user-friendly software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems.
- Make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including coding standards, tools, and platforms.
- Ensure that architectural decisions align with the organization’s business goals and scalability requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of React.js, Next.js, Node.js, Nest.js developers, overseeing the development of server-side logic and APIs, and providing guidance and mentorship.
- A versatile and experienced engineer who can easily switch between front-end and back-end tasks.
- Demonstrable work experience with the latest developments in Next.js and back-end technologies.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers to identify areas of improvement and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes related to technology and team management.
- In-depth knowledge of Git workflows, branching models, and best practices.
- Expertise in rebasing and resolving complex version control challenges.
- Lead and educate teams on the benefits and best practices of rebasing the code.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and practical implementation of RESTful API design.
- Passionate about the product and the impact your code has on end customers.
- Enjoy collaboration with product, design, and commercial colleagues in a cross-functional product team.
- Excellent communication skills: good at explaining complex problems to colleagues and customers.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years building web applications using frameworks like React and a variety of modern languages like Javascript, Typescript.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, and Nest.js.
- Experience creating backends with technologies such as Next.js, Nest.js, etc.
- Hands-on experience in integrating with APIs and third-party services and understanding the potential pitfalls.
- A degree in computer science or a related field.
