Job Description
The incumbent of this position is primarily responsible for overseeing the timely completion of various departmental and transportation related activities, such as regularly corresponding with the Marketing, C&F, and Warehouses regarding transport requirements or reviewing daily quotations received from external parties. Also coordinates with Procurement, and plants for inbound and stock transfer deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Manage transport vehicles for all over Pakistan from / to Karachi for transportation of PET Resin, Pre-forms, PET Sheet, Empty cages, Pharma bottles, and movement of machinery and spare parts (Occasionally on all holidays including Sundays or any other Gazetted Holiday).
- Daily meeting with Marketing, C&F, and Warehouse to discuss their requirements as well as transportation need for the day.
- Negotiate and finalize rates with transporters as per weight and destination wise for vehicles requirements and agree contractual rates across different lanes.
- Ensure vehicle details are confirmed from transporters and are timely shared with relevant concerned at factories through the team
- Ensure smooth coordination between Logistics and factory till arrival of vehicle at Loading point, normally vehicle will be provided with in a single working day.
- Deal with all issues and clear all the matters related to transportation in respect of day-to-day activities.
- Automation of Inland Shipment related Processes, recording of data in SAP along with necessary controls including monitoring and tracking through automation.
- Ensure timely arrangements through the team of required documents for insurance claim purpose if material damaged during transit or loading/unloading.
- Prepare required data and reports for SCM bi-monthly MRM
- Work on Value Addition projects including automation in SAP, TK11 for mass billing, Tracking and monitoring.
- Prepare working for upcoming years rates of Upcountry and Local movements approval from directors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree
- At least 6 years of relevant experience
