Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate/Management Trainee to join our team at Kamayi. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience working with a UK-based accountancy firm and possess a strong understanding of year-end accounts and VAT processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Year-End Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • VAT Returns: Manage and prepare VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest changes in accounting standards and regulations, particularly those relevant to UK-based businesses.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior accountants and other team members to ensure seamless workflow and knowledge sharing.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Handle additional tasks as required to support the accounting team and overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience working with a UK-based accountancy firm.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of year-end accounts preparation and VAT processes.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
