Job Description

The Indus Hospital & Health Network, Korangi Campus, Karachi, is looking for an Officer – Medical Coding for the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) department. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Physiology and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code inpatient, outpatient, and daycare discharges following coding classifications and TIH guidelines.
  • Assist in generating standard reports from coded/abstract data under the Coding Assistant Manager’s supervision.
  • Participate in clinical audit meetings to enhance coding accuracy and amend discrepancies in existing abstracts.
  • Update histopathology-coded charts daily.
  • Provide monthly updates on daycare and inpatient discharge reports.
  • Produce monthly discharge reports by specialty.
  • Keep track and code all medical record folders not coded the next day.
  • Address and code backlog discharges.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head or Assistant Manager of Coding.
