Job Description
The psychologist’s work is to diagnose and provide therapy for patients presenting with, or who are at risk of, emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties that can arise secondary to their medical condition. Takes an active leadership role in the development of the plan of care based on patient/family needs. Provides individual and family counseling for inpatient and outpatient care.
Tasks & Accountabilities
- Inpatient consultation for patients, including assessments, treatment plans, and implementation of interventions.
- Visits inpatient department for patients with various severity levels.
- Provide assessment, counseling, and therapies to patients and families using psychological tests.
- Conduct education sessions, support groups, mental health awareness events, and training sessions for healthcare workers, staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Engage effectively with clients, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct research, develop SOPs, and improve patient referral pathways.
