Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Account Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in taxation-related tasks, maintaining the General Ledger (GL), and performing bank reconciliations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Responsibilities:

1- Taxation: Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by staying updated with changes in tax legislation. Collaborate with external tax consultants or auditors as necessary.

2- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the General Ledger accounts. Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as required.

3- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and internal records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances identified during the reconciliation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role, preferably in taxation or GL maintenance.
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
