Job Description
The Assistant Protection Officer is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, and monitoring protection-related activities in a specific area or operation. They support the identification of protection risks and ensure appropriate and timely responses to situations affecting the rights of individuals of concern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of protection strategies and activities to address identified protection risks.
- Assist in conducting regular field assessments to understand the needs and challenges faced by individuals of concern.
- Support the implementation of protection monitoring activities, including data collection and analysis.
- Contribute to the development and organization of training materials and sessions to enhance capacity in protection-related issues.
- Collaborate with partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the protection of individuals of concern.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international relations, or a related field.
- Previous experience in protection work or related fields is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
