Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a part-time, remote Linux-based OS Firmware Developer with a focus on AWS Greengrass and Kinesis Video Streams. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining firmware for IoT devices using Linux-based operating systems, particularly within the Yocto Project framework. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components. Proficiency in C++, Bash, CMake, and Python is essential, along with a deep understanding of AWS Greengrass components and Kinesis WebRTC for real-time communication and video streaming. The role requires an excellent grasp of Linux OS firmware development and a familiarity with embedded systems and IoT device intricacies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux-based OS firmware development.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS Greengrass, Kinesis Video Streams, and Kinesis WebRTC.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Bash, CMake, and Python.
- Experience with the Yocto Project for creating custom Linux distributions.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like MQTT, HTTP, and HTTPS.
- Understanding of security protocols (SSL/TLS, AES-256, etc.) and experience in managing security concerns in IoT Systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
- Previous experience working with IoT device manufacturing companies is a plus.
