Job Description

AKES,P (South) invites applications from eligible and interested candidates to fill the following position:

The Career Counsellor will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare student profiles and career plans.
• Guide students in determining their interests and abilities using a range of methods, such as personality tests (MBTI), aptitude assessments, interviews, and planning materials, etc.
• Have extensive knowledge of programs being offered by various international and national universities.
• Connect students to additional resources such as scholarships, financial aid, vocational training, extensive counselling, and other assistance as needed.
• Conduct workshops on a variety of topics, including personal statements, writing resumes, cover letters, etc.
• Support academic and career development activities such as one-on-one skill assessment and career guidance, and conduct test and admission application preparations.
• Teach classes and present self-help or information sessions on subjects related to career planning.
• Compile and study occupational, educational, and economic information to assist counselees in determining and carrying out vocational and educational objectives.
• Provide information for teachers and staff members involved in helping students identify and pursue education opportunities.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.

The candidate with a Masters’ degree in Education/Career Counselling and guidance/Educational Psychology and 02 – 03 years of relevant experience will be preferred; s/he must have effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, and have good command over MS Office.
