Job Description
REGULAR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Smooth and efficient running of Pathology section.
- Validation of all tests performed in Pathology according to CAP requirement.
- Proper maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Inventory management.
- Maintaining all records and documentation according to CAP requirements.
- Preparing SOPs.
- Staff management including roster and leave management.
- Coordination with HR for selection and recruitment of staff.
- POCT management and coordination.
- Ensuring accuracy of results.
- Ensuring all critical results communication.
- Liaison with clinicians during reporting of unusual or abnormal results.
- Coordination with the IT staff for interfacing, LIS development, and implementation.
- Coordination with other relevant department i.e. purchase biomedical, maintenance, etc.
- Developing and implementing reporting formats according to CAP requirements.
- Training and teaching trainees, junior technologists, rotational staff, and students.
- Monitoring internal and external quality control program.
- Coming up with innovative plans and procedures for improving lab services.
- Ensuring that the team meets its KPIs collectively and individually.
- Ensuring that the department maintains a turnaround time to defined limits.
- Keeping abreast with recent advances in knowledge and techniques related to the field.
- Doing regular costing of tests and developing solutions to work more cost-effectively.
- Developing proposals for alternative or new tests, instrumentation, techniques as per the requirement of the institution.
- Ensuring safe laboratory practices.
- Any other task designated by Managers, Section Head, or Director Lab.
